Holiday Parks In Cornwall: Relaxing In The South
Cornwall is one of the UK’s top holiday destinations. With its warm climate and stunning landscapes and beautiful beaches, it attracts millions of visitors every year. Many of those opt for self-catering and for those that like a little independence as well as a sense of community, there are dozens of holiday parks in Cornwall.
Holiday parks can be found across the county, in various locations. Some nestle on cliff tops with views out to sea and over beaches. Others are set in acres of woodland or forest, offering seclusion for guests who want a little privacy. The types of accommodation vary from park to park and could be static caravans and bungalows, or wooden lodges, chalets and log cabins. Facilities will usually include a fully equipped kitchen, with cooker, fridge freezers and sometimes microwaves.
Lounge or living areas have a comfortable seating area, which may also double up as a dining area. A lot of accommodation these days has central heating or other type of heating, and gas and electricity used during the stay is often included in the price. Other features include TVs and sometimes DVD players. Bed linen is also provided, so holidaymakers don’t need to worry about bringing their own.
A lot of parks have sports facilities on site, like tennis courts and cycle paths, in larger parks. There’s often an outdoor pool or two and sometimes indoor pools. Equipment hire such as tennis rackets and bikes are often available in those parks with facilities.
Most parks are very family orientated and have facilities on hand to keep the little ones amused, like kids’ clubs, entertainers and play areas. Some will also offer sporting activities for children. Entertainment for the whole family is often provided in the evenings, such as concerts, shows and discos.
When it comes to prices, these are usually set per unit, not per person. There will of course be many variables that will affect price, such as duration of stay, the size and type of accommodation and the season. Many holiday parks in Cornwall are open year round, and offer special rates in low season. Some also offer special packages with meals included, for example bed and breakfast or half board rates. A lot of parks also have pitches for those with their own camper van, motor home or tent.
