Like a 100% cotton Leo Castelli, Yoshi Kawasaki and his company 2k T-shirts are sidestepping the gallery circuit for a softer, better fit.

When you look at the selection of shirts at your local multi-level retail shop, what do you see? Most likely you are not looking at shirts from retail clothing visionary Yoshi Kawasaki, creator of 2K t-shirts. Kawasaki’s company was founded to provide an alternative design approach and philosophy to the mega mass-marketed brands that permeate the landscape. Travelling the world by foot, car, train and plane, Kawasaki searches out new and unique design talent to showcase. He proclaims 2K’s mission as “introduc[ing] the best and most unique artworks and artists to the global youth culture,” and he’s done so using the most ubiquitous information delivery medium: t-shirts.
