I created a group earlier this AM for the ultimate in life imitating art for Mac users… its called Mac FAIL and is an homage to all you mac users who have crazy things happen to your screen whilst working… This arty color strewn screen capture inspired me to do something about it!
My flickr photo group was link checked by my good friends at Wired Blogs

This is the view of a PC on the network via the Leopard Finder. Its HI-larious that the PCs on the network are shown with a clunky old display with a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) visibile to boot! Pretty sneaky one Apple, but I like it!
Thanks to Luke for posting his screencap!

These guys are way cool. They have created a whole slew of ultra slim and very hip DIY wallets. You basically get this flat piece of vinyl w/ one of many of their assortment of designs. Once you get it out of its packaging you are instructed to fill it with your standard complement of wallet goods, drivers license, credit cards, etc… and THEN fold in half, and insert in any pocket, preferrably your back pocket. The pressure of your butt on the folded wallet, over the course of a couple of days, permanently creases the wallet and creates a fold memory… brilliant!
This is the one I got….
SP ONE
Greg Lamarche (SP One) is a collagist and graffiti artist who has paired his interest in graffiti with his obsession for collecting old, discarded papers literally from the street. The resulting collages incorporate found materials, which reflect and move beyond graffiti letterforms and iconography to echo the urban setting.
$20.00 - Contains 3 slots for credit cards, a bill slot, and a change purse. The wallet is 8″ x 4″ open, but folds perfectly to fit in your pocket (4″ x 4″). All wallets are limited edition and all online orders come with a matching badge/pin.

This art event was planned and architected by my good friend Joe Kral. He was telling me about it a few months back and I thought it sounded brilliant. After seeing the pictures of the skateboards I want togo down and check out the opening even more! Also, my good friend Leri Greer has a nice board design in there…
Fifty artists were invited to create original artwork on blank skateboards, the only rule being that the artwork must have a skull in it.
All of the skateboards are for sale and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Faribault Skatepark Association, which is in the process of building a skatepark in Joe Kral’s hometown, Faribault, MN. A limited edition 32-page catalog will be available at the opening reception.

I have always been a fan of both The Buff Monster and Space Invader, a new genre of anti-Graffiti artist. Basically they both use existing structures as the substrate, but rather than using spray paint directly on the surface they either apply a pasteup, or stick on a mixed media application. In Buff Monsters case he uses both pasteups w/ the iconic Buff Monster on traffic signal boxes, transformers, and other utility structures, and flattened spray cans nailed to telephone poles. In the Space Invaders case he applies the famous ceramic tile Space Invader pixel figures on walls and structures. Both can be removed (with maginal effort) or decay with the city at their own paces… in essence a living piece of art that exists and ages with its surroundings…
Los Angeles has long been associated with glamour, glitz, image and unreality. It has always been undeniably glossy and shallow. Reality, of course, remains easily accessible. The Buff Monster hails from the inhospitable streets of Los Angeles. Small and elusive, it thrives in a city with a historic graffiti problem. The Monster manifest itself in different forms, each working towards the same goal of graffiti eradication. Buff Monster has evolved from using flattened spray cans nailed to telephone poles, to primarily using big gray boxes situated throughout the city. On rare occasions you might also find the monster standing even taller than you do. And sometimes the Monster gets invited in from the streets. Galleries provide good temporary homes for the monster. The monster takes old rusty metal and splatters it with layers of fluorescent and metallic paint. From the candy- coated surfaces, oozing landscapes emerge. Pink is power in the land of the Buff Monster.

Speaking of TRASH, this one is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Basically the folks over at Fashion Peace have created a project in which up and coming and know fine artists, designers, illustrators, etc. have customized a variety of TRASH collecting devices… from those large lid based trolly trash cans, to the circular ones you put cans and bottles in, to those HUGE recycling bins you see at the back alley of your finer restaurants…
The TRASHed campaign is a year long trash education program developed by Fashion Peace that redefines the way people and businesses view recycling and trash collection. TRASHed develops programs that fit seamlessly within the surrounding environment and provide creative options in the way people approach waste management. Look for ways to get TRASHed in your neighborhood.
