I know, I know… Its a tad late on the AdiumX for OSX tip, but I had to make a post on this… I have been holding out on changing my IM client from iChatAV for months now. Recently I hit my limit on AIM buddies I can add to my addressbook in iChatAV, I got capped at 200!?. I needed to add people from Yahoo Messenger, MSN and Jabber so I started digging around my link archives and remembered AdiumX. Well, its a pretty amazing app (aside from the fact it does not support Video Chat like iChatAV yet), its got everything else I would want.

Here are some highlights of the features I use most:

• More granular and detailed buddy list sorting (ex. Alphabetical by Name, by Online Status, by Group, etc)
• Multiple IM clients and logins (I use AIM and YIM now, but am adding MSN and Jabber soon)
• Growl messaging and notification support (Whats Growl?)
• Tabbed message management (So you can have mult chats open in one unified window)

Another aspect that I am very excited about is all the well designed Themes that are supported on the AduiumX site Extras tab… I am using the Stockholm theme right now.
