the term 'oyayubizoku' literally translated from japanese equates to 'thumb-gang' or 'thumb-tribe' referring to the masses of young people in japan that use mobile phones for texting, email, and mobile phone conversations.

Hi Jason,
I read your "802se reloaded" but was not allowed to comment on that post. I am interested in unlocking 802se. From which reseller did you buy the credit to unlock? And, if you press ""→＊←←＊←＊" on the phone, what are the number displayed? (are they 5's, or 15's?)

Thanks,

Arnold,
I am just testing out this commenting feature, so bear with me.

I bought the unlock credit from GSM Tech in the UK... They are listed on the SETool.net Resellers list, but I just got an email from them today saying they will not be selling SETool credits anymore...

All I would do is find a reseller on the SETool.net reseller llist that looks good to you, is nearby, etc and paypal them. Its pretty easy to do the whole process... Just follow my instructions.

PS> The numbers displayed after pressing the arrow/asterix combo for the firmware(?) are... R1J002 prg CXC125842_JAPAN_VA

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Jason.

Thanks for the information.

Sorry I should have mentioned I wanted to know USIM lock state. After pressing "→＊←←＊←＊" (without the quotes), select " Service info", then select "USIM lock", and you'll see 5 types of locks, each followed by a lock icon and number. In your 802se, are the numbers "5", or "15"?

BTW, are all the original features of your 802se working properly?

the USIM Lock states.... they are all 5's.... What does the difference between the 5's and 15's mean?

also, so far everything seems to be working great, i have de-branded, de-activated DRM, so any/all mp3s, 3gp videos play fine, and j2me apps work fine as far as I can tell...

I have had a few exchanges with the developer of BlogPlanet and he mentioned that the Yellow screen issue in newer Camera phones is known. He has not been able to sit down and hammer out that code fix yet, as he has been at CeBIT all last week. He should have a update posted in the next few weeks hopefully. I am crossing my fingers as I would prefer to use a J2ME app to moblog, versus a web based/email posting service, like flickr.
