_description
After returning to Los Angeles (in late 2002), I took a position at Belief as their Systems Administrator. During my 8 months time at Belief, in addition to managing the 35+ Mac Design Workstations, MacOS X software and hardware upgrades, LAN networking and Media archives, I managed to program and build the second Belief website.

The point if the revised site was to be as fast loading and impactful as possible, the QuickTime movies were the focul point of this site. We spent quite a few hours perfecting the compression schema to delive the stunning 400x300 pixel wide screen embedded QuickTime movies (we also used Still frame images as our preview to each movie).

We were on a limited timeframe (the BDA Conference was in a few weeks) and so I had to design, program and test the site on my own. I opted to use straight HTML, w/ some javascript for the scrolling text areas, and I used PHP for all of the dynamic menu management and file managment. The project areas use the PHP to scan the foldere hierarchy and render the menu links. This system makes it very easy for the designers and producers to add/remove projects as needed.
