Boston Airport Hotels

Boston’s Logan International Hotel aka General Edward Lawrence Logan
International Airport (BOS) is located in the East Boston neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States (and partly in the Town of Winthrop,Massachusetts). It covers 2,384 acres (965 ha), has six runways, and employs an estimated 16,000 people. It is the 19th busiest airport in the United States.

Though Boston is the largest metropolitan area in the United States which does not serve as a hub for any full service airline, Logan Airport serves as a focus city for JetBlue Airways, and US Airways. Delta Air Lines also carries out many operations from the airport, and all major airlines fly to Boston from all or the majority of their primary and secondary hubs. It is also a destination of many major European airlines. The airport has been a hub for Northeast Airlines, Northwest Airlines, and Pan Am[citation needed]. The airport has service to destinations in the United States, as well as Africa, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, and Mexico. Japan Airlines plans to inaugurate service to Tokyo in 2012, which would add the first service to Asia since 2001.

The largest airport in New England, Logan Airport is one of the 20 busiest airports in the U.S., with over 25 million passengers a year, and is 19th in flight movements. The airport is also the 12th busiest airport in the U.S. based on international traffic. In 2007, it handled 3,808,000 international passengers. Logan Airport stimulates the New England regional economy by approximately $7.6 billion per year, generating $559.4 million in state and local tax receipts.
