The Dell 3110C printer with Dell Laser 3110C cartridge, is capable of delivering monochrome and color printing requirements. Using laser technology, it can meet the productivity needs of a busy office environment, especially because it can be equipped with an optional duplexer. There are multiple connectivity options around so it can be used with a single computer or shared by a network.
On the top panel of this black machine are a few buttons and status LCD that help make its operation simple. It comes with a 400MHz processor, fast enough for it to dish out as many as 31 monochrome and 17 color (letter size) pages with printer toner cartridge a minute. But these numbers may vary depending on the content of the document and other factors.
It comes pre-installed with a 128MB memory, enough to store sufficient data to handle everyday printing requirements. But there’s room for expanding it to a maximum of 1152MB by purchasing a higher DIMM 200-pin SDRAM, which makes it possible to support productivity requirements. Printer languages supported include PostScript 3, which contains 136 fonts, and PCL 5e and PCL 6, which contain 81 fonts combined.
A wireless connectivity option isn’t provided. But there’s the hi-speed USB 2.0 and parallel IEEE 1284 (EPP/ECP) ports for easy connection to a single computer. It’s compatible with a variety of computer operating systems for breezy installation. The Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX port makes hooking it up to a network possible.
This machine has a maximum optical resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch for both monochrome and color printouts. While it’s not actually the biggest resolution in a laser, it’s good enough to yield crisp text and clear graphics. Also housed within it is the Image Enhancement Technology 2400 IQ by Dell, allowing it to whip up professional-looking printouts each and every time.
It can handle handle a variety of media types like regular paper, coated, recycled, transparencies, envelopes and card stock. Likewise, it can handle various media sizes from executive, legal, letter, B5, A5 to A4. As many as 400 media sheets can be handled with the use of its manual feed and paper input trays. To make automatic two-sided printouts, simply install an optional duplexer.
This laser office printer comes already installed with toners. There are a total of four cartridges – black, cyan, magenta and yellow. The black toner is capable of yielding up to 5000 pages, while the rest are capable of yielding up to 4000 pages. The manufacturer has set the monthly duty cycle at 60000 pages.
Since it comes in black, it may be installed in any office and still go well with the rest of the decors or furnishings in the room. Their exterior measure 18.5 inches x 15.8 inches x 19.1 inches (height x width x depth) and it tips the scale at 52.9 pounds. Because it’s on the heavy side, it’s best to devote a particular spot to this machine to avoid the need of constantly moving it around.
The good thing about the Dell 3110C printer with Dell 3110C toner, is it’s very economical. Since it uses laser technology, one can enjoy lower cost per page using printer toner cartridge. While a laser printer generally costs more than an inkjet type, the money-saving benefit may be enjoyed in the long run as consumables are usually cheaper with toner cartridges.
